CENTRE– The first annual Centre tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at City Hall.
The City of Centre invites families, friends, and neighbors to gather for an evening celebrating the start of the Christmas season. City Hall is at 350 East Main Street.
In addition to the tree lighting, the evening will feature a live performance by the Community Choir. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be available.
Families can have free pictures taken with Santa, but the city encourages them to arrive early for photos. Organizers encourage parents to bring the children and enjoy the celebration together.
City organizers describe the ceremony as the beginning of a new community tradition. Everyone is welcome to attend.
