Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has announced that the town of Trion and Chattooga County will receive grants totaling $1.3 million; the grants are part of the Community Development Block Grants made by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
The town of Trion will receive $800,000 and Chattooga County will get $500,000.
Trion plans to upgrade and overhaul its water system with the funds meanwhile the county grant will go towards improving and repairing existing water lines in areas of the county in need of new lines – such as Spring Creek Road in the Mountain View Community.
