SUMMERVILLE– Andres “Chuey” Hernandez of Summerville has received a fall 2026 Roper Corporation Scholarship.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College named Hernandez and Michael Doane of Chickamauga as this fall’s recipients. Hernandez studies Automation Technology at GNTC’s Catoosa County Campus. Meanwhile, Doane studies Supply Chain Management and Logistics at the same campus.
Both students also work for Roper. The company established the scholarship in 2024 to help its employees continue their education. In addition to tuition and fees, the award can cover supplies, tools, and other educational materials.
Applicants must work for Roper during both the application and award semesters. They also must enroll in a GNTC credit program. GNTC President Dr. Heidi Popham thanked the company for supporting the students.
Roper, a GE Appliances subsidiary, manufactures ranges, wall ovens, and cooktops at its LaFayette plant.
