Rome, Georgia –The City of Rome is inviting residents to take part in a full slate of contests, performances, and community events as it celebrates Georgia Cities Week, scheduled for April 20 through April 25, 2026.
Sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association, this year’s theme, “Love Your City,” is designed to spotlight the role local governments play in supporting quality of life, civic engagement, and community pride. In Rome, officials say the week is also a chance to highlight the city’s people, history, and the wide range of services that operate behind the scenes every day.
A variety of free, family-friendly events will be held throughout the week, showcasing local arts, culture, recreation, and wellness opportunities.
The schedule begins Monday, April 20, at 7 p.m. with the Rome Youth Symphony Spring Concert at the Rome City Auditorium. The performance will feature selections from West Side Story, Van Morrison, Led Zeppelin, and more.
On Thursday, April 23, also at 7 p.m., the Clock Tower Ensemble will present Ain’t Nothing But the Blues, a big band jazz performance, again at the Rome City Auditorium.
Saturday, April 25 will feature a full day of activities across the city, including World Tai Chi Day at 10 a.m. at Rotary Plaza behind The Forum, the ROFLO Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Rome featuring art, music, and food, a Rome-Floyd ECO Center open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live wildlife exhibits, and the TRED Walk & Talk beginning at 9 a.m. at the Mount Berry Trailhead focusing on health and safety.
Alongside the events, residents can also take part in several contests and giveaways, including a chance to win Rome Clocktower Tour tickets, City Auditorium tickets to see Rhonda Vincent, and Forum tickets to see KC and the Sunshine Band. Contest details will be posted throughout the week on the city’s website and social media channels.
