City of Cedar Bluff Town Council Regular Meeting

During the Monday afternoon Cedar Bluff Town Council meeting Mayor Crane opened the meeting telling everyone January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and they will discuss this later in the meeting.

Police Chief Jeremy Stepps gave the Monthly Status Report for December 2023. There were 9330 miles traveled, 10 Felony Arrests, two drug houses shut down and 59 tickets written.

Building Inspector Mark Baty gave the Cedar Bluff Fire and Building Inspector Reports. With the December 2023 Fire Report there were 12 incidents and four building permits given out and 197 Camper Permits Purchased.

As stated earlier Mayor Crane spoke to the Council about January being Human Trafficking Month. The Council voted unanimously for a Proclamation declaring January as Human Trafficking Month in Cedar Bluff.

The Council spoke at length about the Volunteer Fire Department purchasing a projector, screen, stand and laptop for $866.95. The purpose is for training. This was approved unanimously.

Porter David Sanford was approved as a Volunteer Fireman for the Department pending passing of a drug screening.

The Council also approved Dash Cameras for five police vehicles. The Cameras are needed for the department as they perform their duties. The sensors in the current cameras are damaged. The total price is $6,314. 50. The money will come from the general fund. This was approved by the Council.

The Council then heard from Chief Stepps about the Resolution 2024.01 which was approved as Guidelines for Wrecker Rotation. In order for a Company to be on the Town’s Wrecker Rotation, they will have to follow the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Rotation guidelines.
