Gadsden, AL – This week, Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford announced the addition of Britnee Perkins to his administrative staff.

Perkins is the mayor’s new executive assistant, replacing Melissa Battles, who recently joined the staff of the U.S. Senator Katie Britt.

“Britnee is a formidable addition to my team at city hall,” said Ford. “Her legal, insurance, and real estate experience has already been so helpful in navigating many issues that come through our office.  As a young parent, she brings a perspective to the team that is valuable and makes me a better mayor.”

Perkins is a native of Altoona, where she graduated from West End High School. She earned an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Gadsden State Community College. Before moving into her new role, she worked as an administrative assistant in the city’s risk management office, assisting with insurance matters and employee benefits.  Professionally, she has eight years of experience as a paralegal in Gadsden and Vestavia Hills, working on issues related to insurance, bankruptcy, and medical malpractice. Additionally, she has been a licensed Realtor in Etowah County for five years.

“I am thankful and excited for the opportunity to work for Mayor Ford and with this great team,” said Perkins. “I hope to be an asset to the mayor’s staff and to make a difference in the city I love.”  Perkins’ husband, Andrew, owns Perkins Law Firm in downtown Gadsden. Together, they have two young children, Lawson (5) and Ali (2) and a dog (Benny).  The family resides in Gadsden.
