Centre- The Centre Fire Department will soon have a new fire apparatus in operation in the city. The fire department recently acquired a new International Fire Truck outfitted by Deep South Fire Trucks in Seminary, Mississippi. The new truck arrived in Centre on Thursday. Chief Robert Pace was, who went down to pick up the new truck, was kind enough to show us at WEIS around the new equipment on Monday.
There is training that has to take place before the truck can be put into operation, and the truck needs to be outfitted. Chief Pace said they are working on the outfitting tonight, and hope to have the new truck in service as early as next week.
The new truck will be a valuable asset to the city, and will be equipped to run all calls in the city of Centre.
It has a 1250 GPM Pump that operates off a 1,000 gallon tank. It is a Pump and Roll set up.
