Mrs. Tammy (Jo) Abernathy Ransum, age 60 of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at Atruim Health Floyd, Rome, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, December 13th, 2024 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Cedar Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Mac Owens officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy Ransum; sons, Tyler (Megan) Crane, Caleb (Kara) Crane; step-daughter, Emily (Jared) Wilford; grandsons, Cannon, Casen and Cavin Crane, and Paxton Beau Crane; father, Donald Abernathy; sister, Pam Abernathy; uncle, Bill Watkins; cousin, Robbie Watwood.
Mrs. Ransum was a native of Cherokee County, Alabama, and was a graduate at Cedar Bluff High School. She is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jo Abernathy; aunt, Mary Evelyn Abernathy; uncle, Jerry Lee Abernathy.
Mrs. Ransum enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren compete in sports and spending time with her family and friends. She spent time with her dad daily and they enjoyed watching Western movies. Mrs. Ransum also enjoyed cheering on the Crimson Tide in every sport they played.
Pallbearers include Terry Lee Abernathy, Todd Dean, Thomas Russell, Smiley Harrell, Brent Hutchins, and Jeff Woodall.
Honorary pallbearers include Craig Chandler, Bill Watkins, Robert Dale Abernathy, and Greg Bomian.
