CENTRE– Cherokee Electric Cooperative is sending three crews to assist Southern Pine Electric Cooperative after quickly restoring local power.
The deployment includes nine men across construction, service, and right-of-way crews. Meanwhile, the update follows WEIS Radio’s earlier coverage of Saturday morning’s outages and the cooperative’s restoration efforts.
Although the local area sustained limited damage, outages still required attention from Cherokee Electric’s crews. Members regained power quickly because of the hard work of the cooperative’s service men and women.
Now, three crews will extend a helping hand to Southern Pine Electric as Cherokee Electric supports another cooperative.
WEIS Radio thanks Cherokee Electric’s hardworking employees for their dedication and their efforts to restore service to local members. We also thank everyone for their patience while crews worked to get the power back up and running.
As the nine men take on this assignment, we wish them a safe trip and a safe return home.
