A deer hunter fell from a tree stand early Sunday afternoon – and had to be air-lifted for treatment.
The incident took place just after 1:00pm near the Cherokee/Etowah County line – a relative of the victim was called to lead emergency and rescue personnel to that area – arriving at the location in just under an hour.
The hunter was immediately taken to the Slackland Baptist Church, where a medical helicopter was waiting to transport him to an area trauma center.
The Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Floyd EMS – and the Leesburg Fire Department all responded to the scene.
No additional information regarding the man’s condition has been made available.
