The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office has found an inmate who walked away from a work release site. Thomas Hopkins of Glencoe was found in Boaz after the sheriff’s office says Hopkins was working at the county’s animal shelter when he walked away Friday.
Hopkins has a lengthy arrest record with the most recent being Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and two counts of Resisting Arrest.
Hopkins is back inside the Etowah County Detention Center.
