Cherokee County First Responders Collect Hundreds Of Toys For Needy Children Across The County

9For the last several weeks the men and women of Cherokee County’s Fire Departments and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad have helped make the holidays a bit brighter for children and families across Cherokee County.

During their Christmas for Kids Toy Drive this year toys were dropped off at Wal-Mart in Centre; Fred’s; local Dollar General Stores; Brad’s One Stop at Watson’s Crossroads; the Rock at Sand Rock; at Fire Hall’s and at Town Hall locations across the county.

Centre Fire Chief Robbie Moon says that every single toy collected will stay in Cherokee County to help the families and children in need.

Each year local fire departments collect toys for needy children in Cherokee County – and each year the need grows greater; you’re encouraged to take a few minutes to pick up a toy and then make a donation that’ll mean more to a child on Christmas Day than you could ever imagine.

For additional information contact Judy Greenwood at (256) 557-8230; John Greenwood at (256) 557-8228 or Glenda Horger at (256) 238-3756. Toy collections will continue for several more days; please take the time to make a donation, and brighten a child’s Christmas.
