Over the course of her career, Duke has served as a critical link between the public and first responders, providing calm and reliable support during some of the county’s most urgent and high-pressure situations. Officials note that her steady presence behind the communications console has made a lasting difference for both callers in crisis and emergency personnel in the field.

As Duke prepares to retire later this year, county leaders are expressing their gratitude for her decades of service and the impact she has had on Cherokee County’s public safety operations.

“Her dedication will not be forgotten,” officials said, extending their appreciation and best wishes as she transitions into retirement.
