Firefighters Quickly Contain Garage Fire on Honeysuckle Lane in Southside

Southside-The Southside Fire Department responded to a residential fire Monday evening with assistance from multiple agencies.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., Southside firefighters, along with Rainbow City Fire Department, Southside Police Department, and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office ESU, were dispatched to a home on Honeysuckle Lane East after the homeowner reported a fire in the garage following the activation of an automatic fire alarm.

The first arriving crew confirmed an active fire in the garage and worked quickly to bring the blaze under control. Officials said the fire was contained to the garage area, limiting the overall damage to the residence. Minor smoke damage was reported inside the home.

No injuries were reported.
