One man airlifted after neighbor dispute turns violent near Piedmont

Piedmont-Authorities are investigating an incident in the Piedmont/Ball Play area that left one man airlifted to a hospital and another detained Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 7:39 p.m. in the Suburban Drive area off U.S. 278.

According to initial reports, the situation began as a disagreement between neighbors and escalated into violence. Emergency responders from the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and Piedmont Rescue were dispatched to the scene.

The injured individual was airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment. Officials have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
