Centre Man Arrested in Rome Theft Case

ROME, Ga– A Centre man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing from a Rome sporting goods store, according to the Coosa Valley News.

Police say 36-year-old Levi Cory Prather took nearly $387 worth of merchandise from Academy Sports and walked out without paying. Officers later spotted his vehicle on Shorter Avenue and pulled him over.

Investigators say Prather was driving on an expired license, and the stolen items were found inside the car.

He’s now charged with theft by shoplifting, driving on an expired license, improper lane change, and two counts of failure to appear.
