Swearing in of the newly elected Mayors and Council Members across the state will be Monday, November 3rd.
Centre’s Mayor Elect, Jay Howell and recently elected Council members attended the League of Municipalities training in Montgomery. The Council Members attending the training were Karen Sloupe, Caretha Clifton, Don Cothran, Phillip Roberts, Torrey Chandler, and Jimmy Williams.
Cedar Bluff’s newly elected Mayor, Bill Warren and City Council Members attended the training session also. The Council Members were Adam McNabb, Bobbie Hicks, Dwayne Agan, Tom Wall and Town
Clerk Jenny Burt.
They received training in Municipal Finances, Authority to Expend Municipal Funds, Council Meeting Procedures, Ethics Training, Duties of the Mayor and Council, Open Meetings Act, General Powers of
Municipalities and more.
Each attendee received 10 credit hours toward the Certified Municipal Official
Program. The program is designed for Municipal Elected Officials and
Employees.
