More Than Five Decades of Music
According to the band’s official biography, the group formed in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 1972. Gray has fronted the band since the beginning.
A year later, The Marshall Tucker Band released its self-titled debut album. Its catalog includes “Can’t You See,” “Heard It in a Love Song,” and “Fire on the Mountain.”
The group’s name also carries a story of its own. The musicians adopted a piano tuner’s name after finding it on a key to their rehearsal space.
The band’s recording history spans more than 20 studio albums, along with numerous live releases. More than five decades after forming, The Marshall Tucker Band still takes its music to the concert stage.
A Saturday of Live Music in Hokes Bluff
