Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson Marks 20 Years of Service

PIEDMONT — Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson is celebrating a milestone this week, marking 20 years of service to the city and its residents.
Johnson, who has spent two decades serving the Piedmont community through the police department, reflected on his career with gratitude for those who helped guide him along the way.
“For 20 years, I’ve had the honor of serving this community, this department, and the people who make this city what it is,” Johnson said.


He credited several former leaders within the department for their mentorship and influence, including retired Chief Freddie Norton, retired Captain Don Glover, and retired Captain Kim Cunningham.
“I’m especially grateful for the guidance and mentorship” of those individuals, Johnson added, noting their role in shaping both his career and leadership style.
Throughout his tenure, Johnson has witnessed growth and change within the department and the community it serves. He expressed appreciation for those who have been part of that journey, both past and present.
“Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey,” he said. “I’m proud of where we’ve been and even more proud of where we’re going.”
As he reaches the 20-year milestone, Johnson said he remains committed to continuing his service as chief of police and leading the department into the future.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to be your Chief of Police,” he said.
Johnson’s milestone highlights his long-standing dedication to public safety and his ongoing commitment to the City of Piedmont.
