Rainbow City Police Explorers Earn Top Honors at State Competition

Rainbow City-The Rainbow City Police Department Explorer Post 2729 represented the community at a state-level competition this past weekend, competing against Explorer posts from across the state in a series of realistic law enforcement scenarios.
During the competition, the Explorers were evaluated on their performance in multiple real-world situations, including traffic stops, active threat response, arrest and search warrant execution, domestic incidents, traffic DUI investigations, unknown problem calls, burglary in progress scenarios, and officer down responses.

Officials announced that one Rainbow City team earned first place in the Unknown Disturbance and Mental Health Call scenario, a category that tests participants’ ability to assess situations, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions under pressure.

The competition is designed to measure critical skills such as decision-making, communication, teamwork, and professionalism. Department officials said the Explorers demonstrated strong performance in all areas and represented both Post 2729 and Rainbow City with professionalism.

The Rainbow City Police Department also expressed appreciation to the agencies that participated in and supported the event, noting that the competition provided valuable experience and the opportunity for Explorers to test their skills alongside some of the top teams in the state.
Officials congratulated the members of Explorer Post 2729 for their hard work, dedication, and commitment, calling them future leaders in public safety and the community.
WEIS Radio had the opportunity last year to speak with RBC Police Chief Camp Yancey about the program:
