Summerville, Georgia Police Chief Announces Retirement

The Summerville, Georgia Police Chief Harold Tucker, has announced his plans to retire after 36 years of service to the city.  Tucker stated that he plans to spend time with family members – and his granddaughter and he’s leaving the door open for the possibility of some other type of career.  Tucker has spent his adult life with the Summerville Police Department. 

He became a sergeant in June 1990 and then was promoted to lieutenant later the same year.  In 1998 he achieved the rank of captain and he then became chief when former Police Chief Stan Moseley retired.   Tucker stated June 28th (2024) will be his last day, with the Summerville Police Department.
