Gov. Kay Ivey Served As Guest Speaker For This Months Chamber Of Commerce Breakfast

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey served as the guest speaker during Thursday’s Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce breakfast held at the Gadsden State Arena. ivermectin for humans for sale in south africa

Accompanied by State Representative Ginny Shaver, Gov. Ivey began by congratulating Sheriff Jeff Shaver for his recent recognition as 2021 Alabama Sheriff of the Year and pledging her continued support for law enforcement across the state.

One of the most recent accomplishments for Gov. Ivey was the Rebuild Alabama Act which funded the four-laning of Highway 411 from Leesburg to I-59 in Gadsden.

The Governor also addressed the state of the economy in Alabama saying quote “Alabama’s Economy is rock solid” – Ivey went on to say that the preliminary numbers for the upcoming fiscal year are looking strong, you wouldn’t even know we had gone through a pandemic.

Gov. Ivey said that despite the pandemic, dozens of businesses like Weiss Lake Concierge owned by Jay and Tonya Howell have opened across the county.

Ivey said that Alabama is making huge strides in the jobs sector with the creation of over 50,000 new jobs across the state. The unemployment rate is at an all time low and the auto industry and aviation/aerospace sectors remain strong.

Tourism and Outdoor Recreation sectors are showing record growth. Ivey said “ Let me clear, we are not letting up anytime soon.”

Ivey said that the state is continuing to work to provide broadband capabilities statewide. Last year Gov. Ivey signed the Connect Alabama Act which establishes a special division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, the state has also completed a map of broadband availability along with a plan to provide full access to broadband service.

Ivey is the first Alabama Governor to have such a plan to provide broadband access in addition to a plan to expand capabilities further.
