Collinsville girls hold off Asbury, 41-37

ALBERTVILLE – Tyla Tatum tallied 16 points and Kayla Beene added nine points on three 3-pointers as the Collinsville Lady Panthers held on for a 41-37 basketball win at Asbury on Monday evening.

Rylee Tillery finished with five points for Collinsville.

Keyaira Nichols topped the Lady Rams with 14 points. Sheyla Guzman-Pacheco added eight points. Kimbria Pilkington and Daisy Zurita finished with seven and six points respectively.

Collinsville led 7-4 at the end of the first quarter and 23-10 at halftime. The Lady Panthers held a 34-23 edge heading into the fourth quarter.

In boys action, Asbury earned a 66-51 victory.

The Rams’ Stanisa Donovic topped all scorers with 23 points. Dezmond Nichols added 10 points. Zack Adams and Eldy Gonzalez both netted seven points.

Caleb Gentry tossed in six points and Jaxon Childress finished with five points.

Colton Wills led Collinsville with 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Alex Garcia added 19 points on four treys. Donovan Smith finished with five points.
