Law enforcement officials have now identified the body of a man found on Monday in Lake Guntersville.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office located the body of Charles Kenneth Land north of the River Bridge near to the Guntersville Lake Sailing Club around 12:00 noon. Land had been missing since around Christmas.
Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims said the case is still under investigation; however, they do not believe any foul play is involved based on preliminary forensic reports.
Agencies also involved with the investigation include the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, the Marshall County District Attorney Office, Elite K-9 Detection and the Marshall County Rescue Squad.

An investigation continues into the discovery of a body in the waters of Lake Guntersville at around noon Monday; that, according to Marshall County Coroner Cody Nugent. According to authorities the male subject was found north of the River Bridge in the waters at the Lake Guntersville Sailing Club.
The individual has yet to be identified – but it has been confirmed that the body was related to a missing person investigation which began just before Christmas.
The body has been sent to the State Forensics Lab for a positive ID to be made.
No additional information is being released at this time.
