Funeral services for Pluma Lee Logan Simpson, 97, will be 11 AM Thursday December 26th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Campbell officiating, burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pluma Lee went to be with the Lord on Sunday Morning, December 22, 2019. She was born October 11, 1922 at the home of her parents Clarence and Myrtis Logan, atop Lookout Mountain in the Pleasant Valley community of Cherokee County, Alabama.
She was a proud graduate of Collinsville High School, class of 1940. She married her high school sweetheart Herman Simpson and together they lived and worked together on their farm, surrounded by the family and friends that she loved. Pluma Lee was a hard working, strong willed and determined woman, but was also kind hearted and loving. Although she had no children of her own she was a mother to many foster children, whom she loved and nurtured.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Jo “Bratsie” Logan of Meridianville, AL; nephew, Jimmy (Deborah) Clayton of Collinsville; nieces, Annette (Charles) Campbell of Rainbow City, Emily Hoffman of Meridianville and Julie (Robert) Lake of Huntsville; several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Herman Simpson, brothers; E.P. (Fraulein) Logan and Lewis Logan and a sister; Estellene Clayton.
Pallbearers include: Jimmy Clayton, Charles Campbell, Robert Lake, Derek Babin, Jason Weaver and Charles Pruitt.
