Anniston Woman Charged With Chemical Endangerment Of A Child In Etowah County

A Calhoun County woman has been arrested in connection to chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Nikki Lynn Chaney, 29, of Anniston, is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, a felony,” investigator Brandi Fuller said.

She tested positive for and admitted to illegally using methamphetamine while knowing she was pregnant. 

Chaney is detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bond for the chemical endangerment charge.  As a condition of her bond, she must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah Court Referral Office upon release.
