Effective July 1st (2013) both Hays State Prison in Chattooga County and Walker State Prison in Walker County will have new wardens.

Bruce Lee has been named Warden at the Walker County facility, while Scott Crickmar will take over from interim warden Rick Jacobs at Hays.

Jacobs, a native of Floyd County – began serving in the top spot at Hays, after the stabbing death of a 19 year old prison inmate earlier this year,

Crickmar moves to Hays from Walker State Prison, where he’d been serving as warden for about a year; he’ll be responsible for 353 staff members and 1,683 inmates according to the department of corrections.
