Police are still searching for the suspect in a Sunday afternoon hold up and kidnapping that occurred on Benvenue Drive in Rome.
According to reports a man was doing yard work at the home when he was approached by a man, then forced into his truck at gunpoint.
The victim drove down 8th Street and across Turner-McCall Boulevard, before coming to a stop behind the Pet Land Store, where the gunman took his wallet, containing around $300 – then fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, the victim wasn’t hurt during the encounter; he dialed 9-1-1 to report the incident at 4:10pm.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a shirt with a red bird on the front and a black hat.
