A 37 year old Munford man was fatally injured in a single-vehicle wreck, occurring Sunday afternoon in Talladega County at the Calhoun County line.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, Russell Wells Lakey, Jr was killed when his 2004 Jeep Liberty left the roadway and overturned on Alabama 21 two miles south of Oxford.

Lakey, who was not wearing a seatbelt – was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

That accident, which took place at 1:30pm – remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
