At the November 3rd meeting, the Piedmont City Council addressed malfunctioning parts at the water pump station on Adamson Street. Instructional Technology Manager Ben Singleton explained repair options. The council could pay $20,643.77 for the repair if the station kept the existing pumps, or they could dole out $56,878.20 to replace the motors, pumps, and controllers. Due to the age and condition of the pumps, Singleton proposed a full replacement. The council took his recommendation. Mayor Pro Tempore Carlos Farmer stated that the funding would come out of capital investments.

Aside from approving the minutes and paying the bills, the council acted on two other concerns. They voted to surplus two vehicles, a 2008 Ford E35Y and a 2012 Ford Cutaway van. Members also approved a retention bonus for employees with a $50 base and $10 for each year of service. The employees should see this in December.

Council members Brittney Williams, Frank Cobb, and Mark Epps commented on possible city road improvements. Farmer thought some of the concerns were the responsibility of the state highway department, but he would investigate.
