GADSDEN– Residents can attend a free showing of “A Great Awakening” on Sunday, October 18, at 3 p.m. The Tabernacle and Eagle Forum of Alabama will host the community event at 1301 S. 11th St. in Gadsden.
In addition to free admission, organizers will provide free popcorn and drinks. Everyone is welcome to attend.
According to organizers, the film explores the spiritual revival that swept through the American colonies before the Revolutionary War. It also examines how that movement helped shape ideas about liberty, individual responsibility, and freedom.
Through that story, organizers invite viewers to consider the connection between faith and America’s founding. Families and other community members can also gather for an afternoon of history and fellowship.
Before the showing, residents can watch the official trailer for a preview of the film. Then, they can experience the story together at the free Gadsden screening.
