ANNISTON–  Calhoun County residents will have a chance to dispose of several items for free during the 2026 Free Landfill Day later this month.

The event is set for Saturday, July 18, from 7:00 a.m. until noon at the Calhoun County Landfill. The landfill is located at 3625 Morrisville Road in Anniston.

Free disposal will be available for Calhoun County residents only.

Items accepted for free disposal include appliances, furniture, yard waste, brush, tree limbs, shingles, scrap metal, carpet, and remodeling waste.

There will be a charge for household garbage and tires.

The event is sponsored by the Calhoun County Commissioners. Residents can use the day as an opportunity to clean up around their homes and property while helping keep Calhoun County clean.
