CENTRE, Ala.– The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing Sgt. Daniel Holcomb as the 2025 recipient of the Chief’s Leadership Award.

The award is presented each year to an employee who demonstrates outstanding dedication, professionalism, and leadership. Chief Deputy Summerford selects one individual whose performance and character reflect the values and direction of the Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say the award is designed to help develop strong, capable leaders within the department. Sgt. Holcomb was chosen for his strong work ethic and his ability to lead, train, and mentor patrol deputies.
The Sheriff’s Office says Holcomb’s leadership and positive influence set a high standard of professionalism and reflect the level of service the community expects from its deputies.
