SCOTTSBORO, Ala.- A Jackson County woman has been indicted on charges of murder and abuse of a corpse following action by a grand jury.
Johneil Steadman, 23, of Gadsden, was arrested on Christmas Day in connection with a body that was discovered in a river in Langston in 2023. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the victim or the circumstances surrounding the case.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further information is expected to be released as court proceedings continue.
