Downtown Gadsden Hosts First Friday
Final First Friday of the Season
GADSDEN – Downtown Gadsden will close out the 2025 First Friday season on Friday, October 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The popular community event offers an evening of shopping, dining, live music, and entertainment, while also highlighting local cultural venues such as the Gadsden Museum of Art and the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts.
Music will be featured throughout Broad Street, with performances from the New Delusions at 2nd & Broad, Dalton Jones at 3rd & Broad, the Matt Harvey Band at 4th & Broad, and the Wheelers at 5th & Broad. Food vendors will line the streets with drinks and treats, while retailers and restaurants welcome visitors. Never Surrender will also be at 5th & Broad to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This year’s final First Friday will coincide with Gadsden City High School’s Homecoming parade. Streets will close around noon for the parade and remain closed through the end of First Friday. Following the parade, which is expected to wrap up around 2:30 p.m., classic cars will park along the interior lanes and in regular spaces on Broad Street.
“2025 has been another great year for First Friday and we want to thank everyone for their participation and support,” said Kay Moore, director of Downtown Gadsden Inc. “The fun continues during the next few months and we encourage people to continue to visit us.”
Moore noted several upcoming events planned downtown, including Shop Small for Fall on October 10–11, Sunset Sips on October 21, Trick or Treat on October 25, Christmas Open House on November 7–8, Ballyhoo at the Pitman Theatre on November 13, Bingo at BFBC on November 19, and Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday on November 28–29. Santa Claus is also set to make an appearance on Broad Street on November 28.
Event guidelines prohibit pets, personal coolers, glass containers, skateboards, rollerblades, and unauthorized fundraising or advertising.

In addition to First Friday, Gadsden City High School will be celebrating Homecoming with a parade on Broad Street. The streets will be closed about at noon for the parade and will remain closed until the completion of First Friday. After the parade is over about 2:30pm, classic cars will be allowed to park along the interior lanes as well as in the regular parking slots.
