Brenda Joyce Meeks, age 78, of Gaylesville, passed away at her residence on August 18, 2026.
Brenda was the daughter of the late Raymond David and Myrtle Virginia Martin McEntyre. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose family meant the world to her. She loved them deeply and treasured the time spent together, whether it was a special occasion or simply the everyday moments that often become the sweetest memories. Brenda had a kind and caring heart, and she will be dearly missed by her family and all those who were blessed to know and love her.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Richard Meeks; sons, Jerry Lee Meeks and his wife, Janet, and Samuel Richard Meeks and his wife, Kristen; brothers, Raymond David McEntyre and his wife, and Steve McEntyre and his wife; sister, Terri McEntyre; several grandchildren; a few great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Brenda’s favorite passage of Scripture was Psalm 23, a beautiful reminder of the faith, comfort, and peace she held close to her heart:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.”
These familiar words brought Brenda comfort during her life and now offer that same comfort to those she leaves behind. Though her family will miss her more than words can say, they will carry with them the love she gave, the memories they shared, and the assurance found in the Scripture she treasured so dearly.
