Fuel Leak Following Two-Vehicle Crash Closes County Road 29 for More Than Three Hours

County Road 29 crash involving an 18-wheeler and pickup truck in Rock Run

ROCK RUN– A collision involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck closed part of County Road 29 for more than three hours Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 12:58 p.m. in the Rock Run community. Reports indicated the crash caused no injuries.

The collision punctured one of the 18-wheeler’s saddle fuel tanks, according to reports. Fuel then leaked onto the roadway.

Crews closed the road while responders contained the leak and completed the cleanup. The work kept that portion of County Road 29 closed for more than three hours.

The Spring Garden Volunteer Fire Department and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene.
