
CHEROKEE COUNTY — School Resource Officers with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently participated in the 27th Annual Alabama Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO) Conference in Orange Beach, where they received specialized training focused on school safety, student engagement, and emerging issues affecting schools.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the officers attended a variety of training sessions and presentations led by experts and speakers from across the nation. Topics covered during the conference included building positive relationships with students, conducting behavioral threat assessments, and updates regarding school safety practices and school law.
Sheriff’s Office officials said the conference provided valuable professional development opportunities and equipped officers with new information, strategies, and resources that can be applied in the schools they serve throughout Cherokee County.
