Rainbow City Assistant Fire Chief Completes Electric Vehicle Response Training

Rainbow City Assistant Fire Chief Robert McCary following the completion of Electric Vehicle Response training through the Alabama Fire College.

RAINBOW CITY – The Rainbow City Fire Department is recognizing Assistant Fire Chief Robert McCary for completing Electric Vehicle Response training.

McCary completed the course through the Alabama Fire College.

The training covers high-voltage electrical systems, lithium-ion batteries, vehicle stabilization, fire suppression, and other emergency response considerations.

As electric and hybrid vehicles become more common, responders face hazards that differ from those involving conventional vehicles. Fire officials said specialized training helps personnel manage those incidents safely and effectively.

McCary’s accomplishment continues the department’s emphasis on professional development. WEIS recently reported that Firefighter Clint Johnson completed Incident Safety Officer certification through the Alabama Fire College.

Department officials said McCary’s continued training strengthens Rainbow City’s emergency preparedness. They congratulated him for completing the course and remaining committed to public service.
