CEDAR BLUFF — Community leaders, chamber members, and local residents gathered Saturday, May 16, to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Woody’s on Weiss, a newly relocated lakefront restaurant now operating at Little River Marina in Cedar Bluff.

The event marked the official welcome of the restaurant to its new location overlooking Weiss Lake, where guests can enjoy waterfront dining alongside a menu featuring steaks, seafood, burgers, sides, breakfast offerings, and Woody’s signature bloomin’ onions.

WEIS Radio was on-site for a live remote during the celebration, and guests were treated to cake as part of the grand opening festivities.

Hosted by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, the event highlighted Woody’s move to one of the most scenic areas along Weiss Lake, with community leaders describing the restaurant as both a destination for local residents and an attraction for visitors to the lake.

Joy Perry of the Cherokee County Chamber formally introduced owners Woody and Holly, recognizing Woody as a longtime chamber member and highlighting the family’s longstanding connection to the chamber and local business community. Perry also noted recent efforts involving the remodeling and expressed appreciation for the investment made into the new location.

Attendees were encouraged to view the opening as a celebration of both local business growth and continued investment in Cherokee County tourism and economic development.
Several local leaders were present to show support, including Cherokee County Commissioner Ronnie Shaw, Cedar Bluff Mayor Bill Warren, and Cedar Bluff Town Council member Adam McNabb.

Mayor Bill Warren praised Woody and Holly for their investment in the area, noting the restaurant will serve as a strong complement to Little River Marina while helping attract additional visitors to Cedar Bluff. Warren also recognized local contributors Gary and Tina for their work and continued improvements at the marina property.
Community leaders described the restaurant’s setting as one of the most beautiful locations on Weiss Lake and emphasized its potential to strengthen both tourism and local dining opportunities in Cherokee County.

Woody’s on Weiss offers breakfast beginning at 6 a.m. daily and remains open through lunch and dinner service. Current operating hours are 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with Sunday hours ending at 5 p.m. Ownership indicated plans are already in place, if needed, to extend evening hours during the busy summer season as lake traffic increases. You can access for meals by boat directly from the lake.
Owners emphasized that Woody’s aims to remain family-friendly, community-focused, and responsive to customer demand while continuing to welcome both local residents and visitors to the Weiss Lake area.

The Cherokee County Chamber also highlighted upcoming promotional efforts for the restaurant, announcing that Woody’s on Weiss will be featured in an upcoming edition of Alabama Small Towns, Downtowns magazine alongside other local dining establishments. Chamber representatives encouraged residents to pick up the publication when it becomes available in the coming weeks to help support local businesses and tourism efforts.
Following remarks from local leaders and chamber officials, attendees gathered outside at Little River Marina for the official ribbon cutting ceremony, formally welcoming Woody’s on Weiss to Cherokee County.
With scenic lake views, expanded visibility through tourism promotion, and plans for seasonal growth, community leaders expressed optimism that Woody’s on Weiss will become a popular destination for both residents and visitors enjoying Weiss Lake.
