Spring Garden picks up first baseball win in rout at Valley Head

VALLEY HEAD – Hayes Garmon and Carson Bostick both went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Spring Garden Panthers to their first baseball win of the season Monday, an 11-1 victory in five innings at Valley Head.

Garmon had a pair of doubles and four RBIs, while all three of Bostick’s hits were doubles. Bostick also scored a run and drove in another for the Panthers.

Zane Edwards delivered a double, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Connor Bates contributed a hit and scored three runs. Dawson Ellzey managed a hit, walk and two RBIs. Joel Hunter had a hit, a walk and a run. Johnny Baker added a hit, a run and a RBI. Clayton Sadler had a hit and a run.

Noah Barber walked and scored a run. Brady Ruark also scored a run.

Sadler earned the win after working three innings. He gave up an earned run on two hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Hunter Parris tossed two innings of no-hit ball with a pair of strikeouts.

Spring Garden is at Jacksonville Christian on Tuesday.
