Sand Rock falls short against Ider, Madison Academy in Fort Payne Softball Tournament

FORT PAYNE – Sand Rock lost a pair of softball games in the Fort Payne Softball Tournament over the weekend. The Lady Wildcats fell a run short to Ider 5-4 and dropped a 12-9 decision against Madison Academy.

Against Ider, Emma Sipsy went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Aubie Camp collected a hit, a walk and three runs. Kailee Patterson posted a hit and three RBIs. Macy Martin and Raven Todd both had a hit. Todd also drove in a run.

Sipsy suffered the loss after giving up two earned runs on a hit with a walk in an inning.

In the loss to Madison Academy, Peyton Johnson homered and had three RBIs. Martin managed two hits, including a double, with a run and a RBI. Patterson doubled and scored a run. Aliyah King contributed a hit, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Molly Grace Lay added a hit, a run and a RBI. Sipsy had a hit and a run. Walker and Alyvia McMichen both scored a run.

Sipsy, Martin and Kinzlee Peek each tossed an inning in the loss.

Sand Rock hosts Fyffe on Tuesday.
