The Board of Education met Thursday afternoon to conduct the business of the Board. They approved the memorandum of agreement with the Darden Rehabilitation which is an annual renewal of services. The energy savings budget amendment for Cherokee County High was approved. A bid was accepted from Singer H & R,  Lowest Qualified and Responsible Bidder in the amount of $77,350 for a serving line at Cedar Bluff School lunchroom. An Upright Freezer,  Gibson Frost Free Commercial  from Spring Garden School was declared as surplus property to be sold.

Out of State Travel was approved for the following: 1. Coach Lisa Bates, Coach Nick Traffanstedt, Coach Kevin Browder, and Coach Tommy Baswell and SR Varsity Basketball and SR JV Basketball Teams to play Signal Mountain in Signal Mountain, TN on January 20-21, 2025 – Funded by Sand Rock Basketball – Trip 3291

2. Will Dodd and Sand Rock FFA Students to attend the National Farm and
Machinery Show at Kentucky State Fair Grounds in Louisville, KY on
February 13-14, 2025 – Funded by FFA (Charter Bus paid for by Mountain
Valley RC&D Council)

Chris Davis and CCHS Band to perform the National Anthem at Rome
Emperors Game and then travel to Atlanta to visit Georgia Aquarium and
World of Coca-Cola on April 29-30, 2025 – Funded by CCHS Band.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 10, 2025 at
4:00 p.m. and will be held in the Cherokee County Commission Meeting
Room.
