Suspect Arrested in Connection with West Rome Shooting

Just before 10:00pm on Friday, emergency responders were called to the West Rome Walmart due to reports of a shooting incident. 

According to a preliminary investigation, a Domestic Dispute was taking place outside of the store, which led to a female being struck by a bullet. The alleged shooter – now identified as David Davis, 31 of Rome, Georgia attempted to flee from the scene, but was soon apprehended by officers.  The victim in the incident was transported to an area hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Davis has been charged with:  3 counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Crime, Reckless Conduct, Discharge of a Firearm on the Property of Another, Reckless Driving – and also with Hit and Run.
