Man Wanted in Catoosa County Arrested in Nearby Chattooga County, Georgia

Recently – a 51-year-old with a warrant out of Catoosa County, Georgia – was arrested during a traffic stop by a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The deputy had received an alert regarding a Nissan Titan pickup truck – that indicated the vehicle’s registration had expired over a year prior.  The officer observed the vehicle pulling into the lot of a Chevron gasoline station on Dot Johnson Drive.   While waiting for the vehicle to leave the property he was able to further verify that not only was the vehicle’s registration cancelled, but that also, its insurance had also been terminated several months earlier.

Once the Nissan left the gas station – the deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle as it traveled northbound on Highway 27 – and he caught up with it near the intersection of Back Penn Road and Railroad Circle.  Approaching the driver’s side of the vehicle, the deputy ID’d the driver as Timothy Leming and informed him of the reason for that stop, which was the expired and cancelled registration.  Leming complied with Fielding’s request to provide his driver’s license – and at that point he was found to be wanted out of Catoosa County for various outstanding traffic offenses and was arrested, and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
