WHITE PLAINS – The Cherokee County Warriors posted their second straight shutout of the football season with a 47-0 victory at White Plains on Friday.

Tae Diamond led the Warriors (4-1, 3-0 Class 4A Region 6) with 104 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns. Keyshawn Woods also had 12 carries for 73 yards and three scores. Jayshawn Stroup added 30 yards on three carries with a touchdown.

Woods and Diamond gave the Warriors a 13-0 lead in the first quarter on their touchdown runs of 2 and 8 yards. Woods added his second score in the second quarter on a 22-yard run, giving Cherokee County a 20-0 advantage at halftime.

Diamond opened the third quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run. Woods added an 8-yard score followed by Stroup’s 22-yard touchdown run. The Warriors led 41-0 after three quarters.

Keshawn Thomas scored the Warriors final touchdown on a 67-yard punt return in fourth for the final.

Cherokee County travels to Shades Valley on Friday.
