Wal-Mart Extends Return Policy for the Holidays:  Here’s What You Need to Know

No matter HOW HARD ‘Ol St. Nick tries – there are bound to be some gifts that just miss the mark.  If you have one of those, and the Jolly Old Elf did his shopping at Wal-Mart, there are some return deadline changes you’ll definitely need to know before the nation’s largest retailer reopens after 6:00am on December 26th.

Wal-Mart stores are closing at 6:00pm on Christmas Eve, and will also be closed on Christmas Day.

Wal-Mart said returns are available for nearly everything the store sells, and to facilitate returns the company will be extending its return policy.

Typically items being sold, and shipped, by Wal-Mart can be returned or replaced when available by mail – within 90 days of receipt and the same goes for in-store purchases – 90 days from receipt.

For the holidays – most items purchased in-store or online, from October 1st – December 31st are returnable until January 31st of 2024.

Remember it’s always best to keep your packaging and any receipts; that can make the returns easier.  You can also save receipts, by scanning the paper receipt into your Wal-Mart app.

Wal-Mart can look up store purchases with a Debit/Credit Card or online orders with a phone number or e-mail.   Refunds made back to a debit or credit card without a receipt can take up to 10 days, and you will need to show a government ID.

You can get a cash refund if the value of your item is less than $10 – BUT – will get a Wal-Mart gift card if it’s OVER $10.
