A Woman Was Found Dead Thursday In Gadsden

An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead Thursday in east Alabama.

Gadsden police on Friday identified the woman as Crystal Nelson. Her age and city of residence was not immediately available.

The discovery was made at 2:14 p.m. Thursday in the area of Hickory Street and Randall Street. No additional details have been released.

Authorities have not said he she died and if any foul play was involved.

“The circumstances around Crystals’s death appear to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community,’’ said Gadsden police Sgt.

Clifton Reed in a prepared statement.
