SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats opened the 2023 softball season Thursday with a 10-0 win over West End in five innings.

EllaGrace Hood had three hits for the Lady Wildcats, including a home run and a double. She scored twice and drove in three runs. Jadyn Foster was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs. Emma Sipsy contributed a hit, two runs and a RBI. Aliyah King added a hit, a run and two RBIs.

Lacey Barnette, Zoey Handy and Sherina Foster each earned a walk and scored a run.

Jadyn Foster picked up the win after tossing four innings of one-hit ball. She finished with nine strikeouts. Hood tossed an inning of hitless ball with three strikeouts.
