GAYLESVILLE – Collinsville’s Gavin Lang rang for 24 points, including three 3-pointers, in leading the Panthers to a 76-36 boys basketball win at Gaylesville on Friday.
Colton Wills added 17 points for Collinsville (2-0). Eli Griggs and Keaton DeBoard both netted 10 points. Shaun Stewart finished with five points.
Kyler Bradley topped the Trojans (0-2) with 11 points, including three treys. Tanner Eads added eight points and Collin Hendon finished with five points.
Collinsville jumped out to a 27-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers led 53-19 at halftime and 73-32 after three quarters.
In girls action, Rylee Tillery sank six treys and finished with 20 points in the Lady Panthers’ 52-23 win over Gaylesville.
Sophie Wills tallied 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Caleigh McElroy and Naydi Mata finished with six and five points respectively for Collinsville (1-1).
Laney Coker led the Lady Trojans (0-2) with eight points. Emma Givens earned seven points. Shonda Epps finished with six points.
Collinsville led throughout the game. The Lady Panthers held an 11-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 27-10 edge at halftime. Collinsville extended its lead to 40-18 after three quarters.
